Needed Documentation to Obtain a Home
Mortgage in Miami
Before the application
process can be started, you we will need to provide a few documents. Please keep into account that the
necessary documentation will slightly vary between lender and lender and between cases.
In general, these are
the documents that most lenders require:
1- Employment or income
verification - If you are the owner of your own business, the lender will need a letter from your accountant
showing your yearly earnings for the last two years. The letter must be written in the official letterhead of the
accounting firm with an address and telephone number on it for verification purposes.
2- Proof of assets- A
letter from your bank indicating account numbers, when were the accounts opened, the actual balance and the average
balance of the accounts for the last two months. As with the income verification, the letter must be written in the
bank’s official letterhead and with an address and telephone number.
3-
Banking reference letter – your bank needs to write a letter showing that you are an individual known for his good
business reputation and that you are a client in good standing.
4- 6 month reserves (to
cover the principal, interest, taxes and insurance) in an American bank.
5- A copy of your
passport
The mortgage lender we
work with can provide you with examples of the necessary documentation so that your bank and accountant can easily
prepare the letters. (You can also download the free guide " How to Buy
a Luxury Home in Miami" to find examples of the documentation required.
